Adventure tourism operators are welcoming a reduction in their ACC levies, following a review of their risk levels.
The review covered analysis of the actual risks, as well as several hundred historical claims made by businesses covered by the âamusement and other recreation activitiesâ classification.
The Tourism Industry Association estimates 200 member businesses will see a huge reduction in their levies, from $3.48 to $0.48 per $100.00 of payroll.
Others are in line for smaller reductions.
Shotover Canyon Swing General Manager Matt Hollyer says the levy cuts will see his business save more than 10-thousand dollars a year on ACC costs.
