Cardno appoints Infrastructure Director - NZ

Professional infrastructure and environmental services provider, Cardno, has appointed Rod James as Infrastructure Director - New Zealand.

Rod is a dynamic and highly-regarded chartered professional engineer with an acknowledged track record in advising clients and for delivering projects in the transport sector.

He brings more than 25 years of experience in the management of national and regional government business units, major projects, and private industry consulting businesses in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. His technical expertise has developed from a base of ITS, network operations and infrastructure delivery, policy and strategy consulting, technology, transport economics, procurement and leadership of major projects and change initiatives.

Rod is joining us from the New Zealand Transport Agency, where, as State Highways Manager for the Wellington/Central region, he has led the development and delivery of several major highway projects, including the Transmission Gully Motorway PPP and the Kapiti Expressway.

His new role at Cardno as Infrastructure Director will see him lead the development of an expanded transport business, increase Cardno’s involvement in major projects, and support the growth of Cardno’s new Auckland office.

Darcy Brittliff, Cardno’s New Zealand Manager welcomes Rod’s transport operations and infrastructure delivery expertise into the New Zealand team.

"Rod’s understanding of, and experience with, National transportation projects will drive strong project delivery outcomes for our clients and solid leadership to our team," said Darcy.

Rod holds a Master of Business Administration from Massey University and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Glamorgan in the United Kingdom. He will based in Wellington, Cardno’s New Zealand head office.
