Business confidence among Auckland firms is at its lowest point in 12 months.
The Auckland Chamber of Commerce quarterly survey shows net confidence at just 11 percent, down from 16 percent last quarter.
Chamber chief Michael Barnett is surprised at the results.
He says uncertainty about the economy is delaying business decision-making and holding up growth and employment.
Mr Barnett says there's no need for it, as there are so many major projects which could be accelerated and used to stimulate the economy.
He says many firms are looking at further cutbacks.
