Green Acres wins franchise system award

Green Acres has once again taken out the Home Services Franchise System award at the 2013 Westpac New Zealand Franchise Awards.

It is the 4th time that Green Acres has carried off the award in 19 years. And sister company, Hire a Hubby, was a finalist in the same category.

The judges noted that Green Acres was one of the pioneers of home services franchising in New Zealand. With over 600 franchisees across a wide assortment of services, it has not been sitting on its laurels but has instead re-invented its brand with a bright new image and renewed focus on support.

The judges said, "Green Acres shows a robust mature system with good supporting planning and business processes. They understand the changing market and competition in grass cutting and gardening, showing efforts to diversify. The franchise system works well with transparency in all systems and expectations. The business continues to achieve good growth."

"We’re delighted to win this award because it represents an extremely thorough review of our business and systems, benchmarking us against internationally recognised criteria," said Green Acres CEO, Logan Sears. "No matter what happened in previous years, we never take it for granted. We work to improve our overall operational performance and the skills and professionalism of our franchisees."

The Westpac New Zealand Franchise Awards are administered by the New Zealand Business Excellence Foundation rather than the Franchise Association, with additional judging on the Export award from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. Entry is restricted to Franchise Association of New Zealand members only. The criteria are some of the most demanding in the world, being independently evaluated and judged under the internationally-recognised Baldrige criteria for business excellence.

The Westpac New Zealand Franchise Awards 2013/2014 were presented at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Auckland, before an audience of over 200 people.
