    Imports of goods fell 2% in July

    Imports of goods fell $372 million, or two per cent, to $21.354 billion, seasonally-adjusted, in July, Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) figures show.

    Unadjusted, imports of goods rose $622 million, or three per cent, to $20.527 billion, the ABS said in a statement on Monday.

    Imports of intermediate and other merchandise goods rose one per cent, or $108 million (unadjusted), mainly influenced by the fuels and lubricant component, while consumption goods rose by $13 million.
