In what's being called a major moment for New Zealand, a Kiwi will head the world dairy organisation.
Dr Jeremy Hill from Fonterra is president-elect of the International Dairy Federation.
He's the first New Zealander elected to the role in its 109-year history and from tomorrow, will serve a four year term.
Federated Farmers Dairy chairperson Willy Leferink says Dr Hill has significant experience in the management of large infrastructure and organisations, and international dispersed teams.
