Fonterra is opening up shop in India.
The company has announced it's taking advantage of India's rapidly growing dairy industry and will open a Delhi office next year.
Fonterra's China/India managing director Kelvin Wickham says India produces around 1/6 of the world's milk and almost all of it is consumed locally.
He says the demand for high quality dairy nutrition continues to grow - and that provides significant opportunities for Fonterra.
Hamish Gowans has been appointed general manager for Fonterra in India - he's previously managed the company's ingredient business throughout Asia.
