The man behind Auckland's newest 'affordable' housing development is defending the cost of the homes on offer.
All 11 houses ready at Hobsonville Point so far, sold over the weekend for between $460,000 and $485,000.
Buyers have to meet several criteria to buy - one of those is that their household income can't be more than $120,000 a year.
Hobsonville Land Company chief executive Chris Aiken says working Aucklanders should be able to buy these homes reasonably comfortably.
