Yet more jobs are on the line in the Wellington region.
The Capital and Coast District Health board is looking at outsourcing the laundry service at the Wellington Hospital.
First Union regional secretary Sheryl Cadman says 40 jobs will go if the board decides to outsource, rather than reinvest in the laundry.
She says if the DHB chooses to outsource, they're thinking short term rather than long term.
Sheryl Cadman says if the board chose to reinvest there could actually be an increase in jobs in the long term.
