Master Builders is confident an Australian construction company will find Kiwi tradespeople willing to fill 80 jobs for a project on this side of the ditch.
HR company TR7, who's advertised for the job in Australia, says it's not excluding Kiwis who can also apply, if they've got the skills.
Registered Master Builders Federation chief executive Warwick Quinn says the construction industry could do with more work and is surprised the company isn't bothering in the first instance to look at qualified Kiwis.
"They'll be surprised by what they'll find and I think they'll be able to accommodate their needs well and truly within the New Zealand economy."
Seek's Australian website is advertising the positions for carpenters and roofers, paying up to $60 an hour, with food and accommodation provided.
