Akl ports won't expand to Devonport - Len Brown

There's an assurance this morning that the Auckland port won't be expanding right across to Devonport.

A report by PricewaterhouseCoopers is predicting annual tonnage growth across the upper North Island ports of up to 2.3 percent per year.

It's also found the Port of Auckland is likely to face capacity constraints ahead of the other ports.

Len Brown says he doesn't want to see the Waitemata Harbour turned into a river.

"We are looking at incremental growth based around what is presently consented and so that's over 30 years."
