Little surprise within the fashion industry at the decision by Australian chain Suzanne Grae to shut down all of its 19 New Zealand stores.
The chain used to branded as Sussan, and its closure puts about 100 jobs at risk.
Fashion industry advocate Paul Blomfield says the move is more about the Australian economy than the New Zealand economy.
He says it's part of a group that's been scaling back its retail exposure in Australia and that market is trending down.
The company says despite its best efforts to meet local customer requirements on range, price and service, they have not been able to establish a sustainable business here.
