Time conscious people turning to mobile mechanics

Time conscious people are increasingly turning to mobile mechanics to fix their vehicles in the car park at work, the airport, train station or golf club.

There are currently 12 mobile Hometune vehicles on the road from Warkworth to Pukekohe, for servicing or roadside assistance. The owner operators are mechanics, technicians and auto electricians, so when you ring up you get the expertise you need.

"Our mobile team are available seven days a week and our workshop is open Monday to Saturday so it’s easy for us to work on your vehicle at a time that suits you," says Mr Samson.

Even though they’ve got top quality diagnostic tools in the mobile mechanic’s vans, there’s the added bonus of the fully equipped workshop and diagnosis centre in Mt Eden if people prefer to bring their vehicle in. If they live or work close by they can drop the vehicle in at the workshop and Hometune will give them a ride back to work or home, and let them know when the work is completed.

Mr Samson believes one of the growing areas of the Hometune business will be fleet servicing, because organisations need not have their vehicles out of commission - Hometune mechanics can come to the office, a work site, or home seven days a week.

"People don’t even have to be there if they don’t want to, just leave the keys and we’ll let you know what the go is by phone, text or email, whichever suits best," he says.
