Audi and Air New Zealand Airpoints join forces

For the first time, Kiwis will be able to earn or spend Air New Zealand Airpoints Dollars on their next Audi purchase.

From next week, Airpoints Dollars will be earned on all new and used Audi vehicles. The entry level new A1 will accrue from 400 Airpoints Dollars, while the top of the line R8 will earn from 2,000 Airpoints Dollars at Audi’s nine authorised dealerships nationwide.

Airpoints members will also be able to redeem their Airpoints Dollars to help purchase their next new or used Audi vehicle from any one of Audi’s authorised dealerships.

Dean Sheed, General Manager Audi New Zealand, says, "We are very pleased to be joining Air New Zealand Airpoints on an exciting new direction for our business, and we are delighted to be presenting such a unique opportunity to our customers.

"We look forward to welcoming existing and new customers to earn and spend their Airpoints Dollars with Audi."

Sheed believes it is the perfect time for the business to launch a first-to-market proposition with Air New Zealand’s Airpoints programme. Both brands have seen growth in recent years, with Audi averaging 10-15% growth for the last four years and Air New Zealand’s Airpoints programme now rapidly surpassing 1.75million members.

Hamish Rumbold, General Manager Customer Value, says, "Our partnership with Audi is an exciting prospect for our members who will now be able to enjoy a holiday, using their Airpoints Dollars, as a result of their next vehicle purchase.

"The ability to earn Airpoints Dollars when purchasing a car, filling it with petrol at Z and paying for it with your Airpoints earning credit card, means your Airpoints Dollar balance grows very quickly with this programme."

Airpoints is now by far the largest loyalty programme in New Zealand measured by the value it gives back to its customers annually.

Sheed says, "Audi and Air New Zealand have had a close relationship for a long time through the Gold and Elite Airpoints programmes, so this seemed a natural extension of that partnership. We’re excited about our latest Airpoints offer that will further reward our customers and enable new customers to experience Audi."

From 2 February, Airpoints members will be able to use their Airpoints Dollars to purchase Audi vouchers via the Airpoints Store (www.airpointsstore.co.nz) which can be redeemed on their next vehicle purchase at Audi authorised dealerships nationwide.
