Aust shares open one per cent lower

The Australian share market has opened more than one per cent lower.

At 1011 AEST on Thursday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 67.4 points, or 1.32 per cent, at 5032.6, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 64.2 points, or 1.26 per cent, at 5,026.1.

On the ASX 24, the September share price index futures contract was down 72 points at 5007, with 8,052 contracts traded.
