BMO Recognized by Celent as a Model Bank for Excellence in Digital Banking

- Award follows the launch of BMO Banking & InvestorLine iPad app

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Mar 25, 2015) - For the third consecutive year, BMO Bank of Montreal has been recognized by global financial services research firm Celent with a 2015 Model Bank Award for excellence in the digital banking category.

"As the role of digital accelerates in our customers' lives, the expectations of what banks deliver in the digital space increases as well," said Cesar Rainusso, Vice-president, Digital Channels, BMO Financial Group. "Over the past few years we've made the digital channel a top priority and invested to ensure we can help meet the changing demands of our customers, and this award is a reflection of those efforts."

Mr. Rainusso added that over the past year, customer adoption and engagement in the mobile banking channel has grown significantly. Active mobile users have increased by 80 per cent, and monthly logins and transactions are up by 80 per cent and 107 per cent, respectively.

The annual award program selects 'model banks' and recognizes them for their achievements in the strategic development, effective deployment, and business and customer impact of banking technology.
