Bridgerton fans prefer season two to season one for this surprising reason

Bridgerton season 2 is finally here, and we couldn't be happier. We might even go as far as to say that this new series is even better than the first one, and we wouldn't be the only ones thinking it. Since bingeing the new instalment fans are taking to Twitter to explain why season 2 of the Netflix show is their favourite one yet, and the reason might surprise you.

Season 2 follows another Bridgerton sibling, Anthony Bridgerton, who at the beginning of the series sets his sights on finding an eligible match and getting married. He begins courting potential wife Edwina Sharma, but her sister Kate Sharma doesn't approve of Anthony and goes about trying to disrupt the romance. In true Bridgerton fashion, this ends up leading to a whole load of sparring between Anthony and Kate that results in overwhelming sexual tension.

Since the series landed on Netflix many fans have been talking about it on Twitter with lots of them explaining why they love Bridgerton s2 quite so much, saying it has a lot to do with the chemistry between Kate and Anthony (Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey), and the fact that there was less sex but more lingering touches and longing looks.

"Can we talk about how they showed more intensity and emotions with scenes like this than Daphne and Simon did during every sex scene they had. This just shows that passion doesn't have to be portrayed as something purely sexual," one fan tweeted.

Another said, "I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion but I liked the second season so much more than the first one. The chemistry between Anthony and Kate was so much better than the one between Daphne and the Duke."

"Me explaining how this season served a solid plot, a enemies to lovers trope, an actual love story full of emotions and depth, and less excessive unnecessary sex scenes still with explosive chemistry," wrote another viewer, while someone else commented, "everyone is complaining bc season 2 of Bridgerton has less sex… however the plot and story line are far better, and choose to view women as more than objects and honestly it’s refreshing…"

Good to see that everyone is as obsessed with Kate and Anthony as we are.
