Yahoo Finance Buckingham Palace Has Shared A Photo Of The Queen's Gravestone
Buckingham Palace has released the first photo of the Queen's gravestone, which has been placed at her father King George VI's memorial chapel in Windsor Castle.
Her Majesty's gravestone is inscribed with the names of her father, mother, and her husband Prince Philip, who she is buried alongside.
The recently released photo of the Queen's gravestone, shared by the official royal family Instagram account, shows the late royals' inscriptions, along with an array of wreaths displayed beside it.
It's detailed with 'George VI 1895-1952', 'Elizabeth 1900-2002', followed by a metal Garter Star, then 'Elizabeth II 1926-2022' and 'Philip 1921-2021'.
All four royals were members of the Order of the Garter - the most senior knighthood in the British honours system.
The stone itself is made using hand-carved Belgian black marble with brass letter inlays, matching the previous ledger stone.
Royal fans have taken to the comments section to share their thoughts on the new gravestone, with one writing: 'Thank you for sharing this, very personal. Now they are all together again [sic].'
Another wrote: 'Bittersweet to look at [sic].'
Someone else echoed the heartfelt sentiments, writing: 'Now Ma'am you are with your dearest affections.'
Her Majesty passed away on September 8 at Balmoral Castle, surrounded by family members.
The Queen's state funeral at Westminster Abbey, which also marked the last day of national mourning for her, saw members of the royal family, including King Charles, Prince William (the newly appointed Prince of Wales) and Prince Harry, walk behind her coffin.
A wreath was placed atop her coffin, and bore an extremely special message from King Charles III, the Queen's son and heir.
It read: 'In loving and devoted memory, Charles R'. The 'R' stands for 'Rex', now that Charles is King.
Visitors can view the Queen's burial site from next week, as Windsor Castle reopens to the public on September 29, excluding on Sundays when it's only open for worshippers.
