Central Banks and Geo-Political Concerns Rise

Fed Chairwoman Janet Yellen spoke last night in Washington about inflation. Today the Empire State Manufacturing Index numbers will be published. BoE Governor Mark Carney will speak tomorrow. China inflation data was higher than expected today.

Yellen Speech Offered Insights, U.S. Dollar Range Trading Early

Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen spoke at a banking conference in Washington last night and spoke about inflation. While Yellen admitted the lack of inflation in data remains troubling in the U.S, she reiterated her believe inflation will emerge. Wall Street will begin trading today near record highs as investors weigh their risk sentiment. The U.S Dollar has range traded early this morning.

China Inflation Shows Increase, Asian Shares Market Rise

Producer Price Index data from China released earlier today came in with a higher than expected outcome of 6.9 percent. China will also release important Gross Domestic Product numbers later this week. The Nikkei Index has continued to display buying impetus today. The Yen has been slightly weaker and is near 112.00 against the U.S Dollar.

Mark Carney and the Pound, Catalonia Announcement Expected Today

Bank of England Governor Mark Carney will be in the spotlight this week. Many analysts believe the U.K will raise its interest rate in November and Carney is expected to verify this belief in a subtle manner tomorrow as he testifies to the British Treasury. The Pound is near the 1.33 level against the U.S Dollar. Spanish politics will be watched closely today as Catalonia considers its next move. The Euro lost value before going into the weekend. Trade Balance data will come from the European Union today.

Geo-Political Concerns Emerge for Oil, U.S. Crude Oil Speculation

Crude Oil saw speculative trading emerge last week as the Kurdish independence movement has begun to generate geo-political concerns. U.S Crude Oil has gained the past couple of trading sessions and is likely to attract further speculation as questions emerge regarding Opec Oil production.
