Check Point: 1Q Earnings Snapshot

TEL AVIV ISRAEL, Israel (AP) _ Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (CHKP) on Thursday reported first-quarter earnings of $179.9 million.

On a per-share basis, the Tel Aviv Israel, Israel-based company said it had profit of $1.15. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, were $1.32 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 16 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.31 per share.

The data security company posted revenue of $471.8 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Thirteen analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $471.2 million.

Check Point shares have risen 26 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 24 percent in the last 12 months.
