Costco sales soar, Snap gives out pink slips, Apple suppliers face serious violations, Coco-Cola tests alcoholic drink

Here’s a look at some of the companies the Yahoo Finance team will be watching for you.

Costco (COST) is holding its own against Amazon (AMZN). Sales at the big box wholesaler soared 8.4% in store and a whopping 28.5% online in its most recent quarter. Earnings also got a boost from President Trump’s new tax law.

Snap (SNAP) is laying off more workers. The social media app is laying off about 100 engineers — nearly 10% of its engineering team. That’s despite stating in its most recent quarterly report that headcount at Snap was expected to grow.

Apple (AAPL) uncovered a higher number of serious labor and human rights violations at its supplier facilities last year. The tech giant says an annual audit of its supply chain found violations including falsifying work hours data and forcing employees to pay placement fees to work for an Apple supplier.

Coca-Cola (KO) is gearing up for the weekend. The soda giant is testing its first alcoholic product in Japan. The drink is said to be similar to the popular Chu-Hai drink which is a mix of grain-based alcohol and flavored carbonated waters like strawberry and ice tea.
