Council selling prime Whangamata industrial site

A large Council-owned property in the heart of Whangamata's industrial estate is for sale. The property is 107 Lindsay Road. The site is 2,256 square metres, level, has several concrete pads, is partially fenced, has road frontage and a three metre easement on the south-west boundary for the right to drain water. It is zoned for industrial use in the both the Operative and Proposed District Plan. "It's a very large site and has good access," says Garry Towler, our Area Manager for Whangamata. "The property has been on the market one day and we've already had interest from a number of parties", says Mr Towler. The site has been owned by Council for a long time and leased to various people over the years but is now vacant and is no longer needed for Council purposes. The property is being advertised in the Waikato Times Wednesday Commercial Property section, the Hauraki Herald and the Coastal News. It is also listed on Trade Me. It is being sold by tender with a close date of 18 November.
