For some, the new year calls for an entirely new look. Allow Emily Ratajkowski to show you how to get your aesthetic transformation right.

On Instagram, the model posted photos of her new tousled bangs. It's unclear if the hair was a wig or a real-life chop, but either way, it called to mind '60s-era beauty trends (think swinging icons like Jane Birkin, Marianne Faithfull, and Brigitte Bardot). She completed her glam with cat-eye liner, warm blush, and a nude lip.

Her outfit was also New Year's Eve ready, featuring a backless chain-mail top with floor-grazing silver fringe, black trousers that rested low on her hips, and a silvery clutch. She accessorized minimally with more silver.

'Twenty twenty too,' the My Body author captioned her post.

In a 2019 interview with Marie Claire, EmRata opened up about cutting hair and making use of wigs. '[Modeling] was how I learned to care for my hair. I'd watch the experts and pick up things. I'm really good with makeup now, but styling my own hair? It's been a journey,' she told the magazine. 'I can't see the back of my own head! I don't know what I'm doing! I recently gave my best friend a bob. After the first chop, I was like, "Oh my God, what have I done?" But luckily she wasn't in front of a mirror, so I just kept going and it looked really good in the end.'

She added that wigs have been her secret saving grace. 'And there's always wigs if things don't work out,' she continued.

'One of the hairstylists I work with, Jennifer Yepez, gave me the best advice: Take care of what you've got and use wigs when you need to experiment and get that urge to do something different. I wear them all the time and people don't realise it.'
