EYNTK About The 'And Just Like That' Premiere, From SJP's Broken Bag To Her Son's Red Carpet Appearance

The premiere for the highly anticipated Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That, has finally taken place, with stars Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York Goldenblatt) all in attendance.

The premiere marked Parker's first red-carpet event in years, making the event even more special.

The actor was joined by her husband, actor Matthew Broderick, and their 19-year-old son, James Wilkie.

For the occasion Parker wore a sparkling prom-style Oscar de la Renta gown, spliced with pink tulle.

The star, known for portraying high-flying writer and columnist Carrie Bradshaw, who seemingly boasts an endless disposable income, a brownstone Manhattan apartment and an impressive collection of Manolo Blahnik shoes, complemented her look with a tonal sheer overlay and accessorised with knife-pointed satin pumps.

It's safe to say Parker was after on-screen character Carrie Bradshaw's own heart with her ensemble, which isn't dissimilar from what she wore to the 2004 Golden Globes, either.

Not to mention, the resembling tutu-style silhouettes she wore on both occasions, which resonate with what her on-screen character dons in the iconic opening credits of the original 1990s series.

Of course, the at the premiere didn't stop at the clothes, either.

The New York event, which took place at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) also featured fashion-forward cakes in the shape of Fendi's ionic baguette bag, which debuted in 1997 (coincidentally the same year Parker married Broderick) and was Carrie's handbag obsession throughout the series, which first hit our screen in 1998.

Alongside Parker at the premiere stood Nixon, dressed in an arresting Christopher John Rogers shirtdress that's actually available to buy at Farfetch. Davis, meanwhile, echoed her character Charlotte's graceful ways in a demure shoulder-baring gown with ruffled trim and an undulating hemline.

If there was ever a way to fully embrace their SATC characters, and ahead of the reboot's release today, this was it.

Parker, who also told Entertainment Tonight that it was difficult resurrecting the show's thirtysomething characters as women in their fifties this time around, did suffer an accessory malfunction during the night when the strap from her clutch bag fell off.

The accident reminded us of her on-screen fashion dilemmas, like when her character hopped down the street barefoot after a thief stole not only her Baguette bag, but her favourite Blahnik sandals, that she famously pointed out were bought half price at a sample sale.

Parker, Nixon and Davis were seen lovingly hugging each other on the red carpet, minus Kim Cattrall (who played SATC's Samantha Jones), who sadly won't feature in the reboot.

Parker also embraced actor Chris Noth, who plays her on-screen husband 'Mr Big' Preston, on the night. Noth was kitted out in a sharp suit like that of Broderick's.

Days earlier Noth defended his 'close' friend Parker against the negativity surrounding her and Cattrall's rumoured feud.

'I feel very protective of her,' he said of Parker, though still praising Cattrall, saying she was 'marvellous' in the show, per The Guardian.

Davis, who recently confirmed that her character Charlotte is still married to her second husband, Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler), in the new series, told Today: 'We would never disrespect Samantha.'

The actor also highlighted that her two daughters in the show, Lily and Rose, are growing up. 'And with parenthood comes surprises,' she teased what fans can expect from the reboot.

Nixon was seen posing as a sweet family-of-three at the premiere with actors David Eigenberg and Niall Cunningham, who play her on-screen husband and son in the new series.

New characters of the 10-episode series, such as Sarita Choudhury (Che Diaz), Karen Pittman (Dr. Nya Wallace) and Nicole Ari Parker (Lisa Todd Wexley) were also in attendance.
