GOP Rep. George Santos Comes This Close To Telling The Truth In Spoof Fallon Interview

Comedian and actor Jon Lovitz jumped into character as serial liar Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) to receive a grilling from Jimmy Fallon on Friday’s broadcast of “The Tonight Show.”

Lovitz’s Santos gave a preposterous reason for why he was in town before explaining the many lies he’s told about his background with ... yet more lies.

“My great-grandfather Winston Churchill, he would call them ‘embellishments,’” the congressman character said.

At one point, he appeared to nearly admit one of his falsehoods but then just doubled down on his fiction.

“The truth is, I did not work for Goldman Sachs — I am Goldman Sachs. Yes, I founded the company many years ago,” Lovitz said.

The comedian ended the bit by bursting into song with his own mocking take on “My Way,” the hit popularized by Frank Sinatra.
