The head of CanCERN is questioning a pay hike for EQC's chief executive.
Ian Simpson has been given a pay rise of $70,000 in the past year, putting his annual income in the bracket of between $400,000 - $409,000.
CanCERN's Leanne Curtis says it's going to make many people angry, especially since EQC's not meeting its customer satisfaction targets.
"I think the argument that some Cantabrians would have is it's excessive if you're not delivering. Now from a customer's perspective, are they delivering? What are they doing to earn that four-hundred-thousand dollars."
Leanne Curtis says if EQC doesn't want to be criticised over the pay rise, it should open up the performance-based targets for Ian Simpson to the public.
