House prices around the country continue to rise.
The latest QV monthly property value index shows nationwide residential values increased in July once again.
Prices jumped up 8.1 per cent over the past year, with an increase of 3.1 per cent over the past three months.
QV operations manager Kerry Stewart says values continue to rise, still primarily driven by Auckland and Christchurch.
He says most of the rest of the main centres are also increasing but at a much slower rate.
Kerry Stewart says there have been strong increases in the former Auckland City, Waitakere and North Shore council areas, resulting in a 4.1 per cent increase in the region as a whole.
Christchurch values have risen by 3.4 per cent but increases are not quite as high as some areas of Auckland.
Values in Banks Peninsula and the central and northern areas of the city are seeing the most rapid increases.
