“Jamie and Corinne are the heart and soul of Beat Shazam,” Allison Wallach, FOX Entertainment’s President of Unscripted Entertainment, writes in a statement of their onscreen chemistry. “As our undeniably dynamic father-daughter hosting team, they bring a relationship like no other to a show like no other, and it’s wonderful having them back on set this season.”

Jamie's return to the game show comes after a health scare that kept him hospitalized for part of 2023. The father-daughter duo opted out of their hosting duties and tapped Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne to temporarily host the series.

Though his exact medical condition has not been revealed, Corinne acknowledged that a "medical complication" had taken place in April 2023 while filming his movie Back in Action.

"We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday," she in a statement shared on behalf of the Foxx family at the time. "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time."

The following month, Corinne announced her dad had been home for some time — though, the family was prepared for "the worst."

"Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild," she said in a since-expired Instagram Story. "My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating."
