Jon Hamm's 'dedicated nippleologist' on “Fargo” deserves all the awards for his fake pierced nips

More importantly, how does one become Jon Hamm's dedicated nippleologist?

In season 5 of FX's Fargo, Hamm plays North Dakota sheriff, preacher, and rancher Roy Tillman — a God-fearing, law-abiding man who just happens to have two pierced nipples, as seen in the season's trailer.

But Hamm didn't go full Method and get his nips pierced for the role, nor did he already have them pierced and ready to go just in case.

At a Fargo season 5 premiere screening and panel last week, Hamm revealed he had some artificial, adorned areolas.

"I had to have some very blue latex put on my nipples, and then they cast a resoundingly lifelike pair of nipples, which they then pierced and placed over my own nipples, and we shot said nipples," the Emmy-winner said. "The crew doesn’t get enough credit, but there was a dedicated nippleologist."

This revelation shocked costar Juno Temple, who remarked, "A full fake nipple?" Temple plays Minnesota housewife Dorothy "Dot" Lyon, who, seemingly, thwarted her own kidnapping — though, this being Fargo, there's more to the story than that as Dot's definitely hiding something.

Meanwhile, Roy's letting it all hang out, including "said nipples." As for the why? Why not? Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley had a quick and easy explanation for the sheriff's booby jewelry: "We all live in Tiger King America."

Touché.
