And Just Like That has been full of surprises for fans, from Samantha's move to London to Miranda and Steve's relationship breakdown. The latest curveball came in the shape of Harry Goldenblatt's, er, penis, in an episode which saw a NSFW scene unfold between him and wife Charlotte Yorke.

Fans went wild for the unexpected moment, and now the show's writers have addressed why they decided to make him so well endowed. In essence, it was a subtle nod to an original Sex And The City storyline, which saw Charlotte raving about their sex life when the pair first started dating.

"I decided, many people agreed with me, that he would have a substantial penis," showrunner Michael Patrick King explained on The Writers Room podcast (via Grazia). "Because one of the things that Charlotte says about Harry in Sex And The City is [their] great sex life: that she's repulsed by it, but she wants him."

He added, "And not that your sex life is dependent on your penis size. But when you're going to show his penis, let's make it be something that's a nice size.'

The writer went on to explain that they used a prosthetic penis, so it wasn't actually actor Evan Handler's full-frontal body on display, and that its inclusion was genuinely thought out. "It wasn't enough for us to have it happen like in other TV shows where you never see the dick," King concluded.
