Kate Middleton, Prince William and the rest of the royal family have been, understandably, keeping a rather low profile since the release of Prince Harry's memoir Spare earlier this year – but there's nothing like an important cause to get them back in the spotlight once more.

Case in point: Kate Middleton, who yesterday carried out various public engagements in Leeds to coincide with a new campaign that is close to her heart – and also launched a brand new Instagram page to boot.

The Princess and Princess of Wales already have their own dedicated Instagram account that documents their work and family life, but Kate Middleton's newest account is dedicated to all things 'early childhood' and uses a handle of the same name.

And no, it's not a picture diary of Middleton's own early childhood (sadly), but instead an account dedicated to The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood – an organisation the Princess set up in 2021 to raise awareness of the importance of the first five years of a child's life.

Launching alongside the organisation's new 'Shaping Us' campaign, the new Instagram account will serve to shine a light on 'one of the most important topics of our time.'

Kate Middleton also stars in a new video released on the Instagram page, to explain the initiative: 'Our early childhood, the time from pregnancy to the age of five, fundamentally shapes the rest of our lives,' she says. 'But as a society, we currently spend much more of our time and energy on later life. Today, the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood is launching a new campaign, Shaping Us, to raise awareness of the life-changing impact we can have when we build a supportive, nurturing world around children and those who care for them.'

Now that's an account worth following.
