Bill Gates--or his Lego avatar, at least--reveals his favourite business books of the year.
Bill Gates--or his Lego avatar, at least--reveals his favourite business books of the year.

Bill Gates is back with another version of his favorite books, and for 2014 he's entrusted its reading to a Lego version of himself, which is equal parts geeky and cool.

Mostly books about business and economics, which Gates mentioned is unsurprising given the prominent role economics played in 2014. The first book on the list is perhaps the most surprising since it was published not in 2014 or even in the 21st century. "Business Adventures" by John Brooks was first published in 1969 and is a collection of New Yorker articles from the '50s and '60s. Gates argues that it's just as relevant today as it was back then, though, and is his favorite business book of all time.

The inventive video riffs on the Lego theme and uses blocks to give us Gates' synopsis of each of the books and why we should read them. Is it worth the 90-second watch? Definitely. It may even make you want to go find that box of Lego in the garage.
