Love Island fans divided over Davide and Coco Casa Amor moment

Love Island 2022 has been, in a word, "drama". Whether it's been the Ofcom complaints, accusations of faking heart monitor results, extremely awkward moments, or major editing fails, there has been literally *so much* gossip this season. Then there's the controversy between Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Amber Beckford which rocked the house, as well as Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su's inexplicable chemistry and on-off coupling... No wonder we're all already looking forward to Winter Love Island!

With all that in mind, this evening's Love Island instalment has not disappointed, with plenty of twists, turns and loud smooching that viewers at home definitely didn't see coming. But beyond the Casa Amor betrayals and short-sighted shenanigans, there was one moment that seriously had fans on Twitter eye-rolling, giggling and sharing their thoughts.

In conversation with newbie Coco Lodge, Davide seemingly made a faux-pas that audiences could not let go of. Asked by Davide about when her last relationship was, Coco explained; "[It was] a year and a half ago. He went celibate so we broke up." Apparently perplexed by her word choice and thinking his potential flame had referenced a country or city, Davide asked; "He went where?" Afterwards, Coco clarified what she meant, saying: "We wouldn't have sex."

While the misunderstanding seems simple enough, the mix-up has prompted plenty of memes as people have headed to Twitter to share their disbelief, such as one fan who wrote; '“He went celibate” “He went where” LOOOOOL BYE'.

Others have been positive about the moment, perhaps thinking it was intentional or a joke on Davide's part, with one Twitter user writing; "The girl said ‘celibate’ & Davide said ‘where’s that?’ LMAO STOP i love him".

Whatever the case is, we can't wait to see what happens in tomorrow night's episode...
