Viewers watched in shock as Matt Murray and Whitney Hughes rejoined Married At First Sight UK as a new couple during last night's show [29 September], and took to social media to voice one opinion in particular.

In case you need a recap, Matt was originally matched with Gemma Rose while Whitney paired up with Duka Cav, in an experiment which sees participants 'marry' a complete stranger after being matched up by a panel of experts.

While things looked to be going well for Matt and Gemma during their wedding day, things took a turn on their honeymoon. After the couple joined the rest of the group in the experiment, he and Whitney later shared a kiss.

Last night's episode saw the experts allow the new couple to reenter the experiment as a duo, meaning Gemma and Duca were left single. To put it bluntly, a lot of fans were fuming over the decision, insisting it changes the concept of the show completely.

"IMMEDIATELY THROW MATT &WHITNEY IN THE BIN," one fan wrote on Twitter, while another put, "MAFS need to remove the Married bit. As allowing Matt and Whitney to stay has just changed the game permanently."

Someone else said, "Whitney and Matt should of NOT been allowed to continue their relation on screen! They disrespected the process and the experts, they don’t deserve it!! #MAFSUK #MAFS"

Others have been more supportive of the couple, though, with one writing, "If we’re being real Whitney and Matt have done nothing wrong" and someone else saying, "They're a good match for each other."

Married At First Sight continues at 9pm on E4.
