Meghan Markle nails a slicked-back ballerina bun in rare red carpet appearance

Despite all the buzz around Meghan and Harry's new Netflix show – which is dropping today, FYI – it's rare for the couple to make a red carpet appearance these days. That is, until last night. Not only did we get a sighting of the couple, but we were blessed with Meghan wearing the *perfect* ballerina bun. Get ready to save it in to your hairspo folder immediately.

The Duchess of Sussex has good hair – fact. But her style tends to be on the safer side – you know, loose waves etc. However, we were pleased to see her mixing it up a bit and playing with the latest hair trend: the slicked-back bun.

We may look like an egg when we attempt it at home (no? just me?), but Meghan, of course, didn't suffer from this one bit. Her go-to hair stylist, Serge Normant, is the man responsible for this creation and he hasn't left one stray hair in sight. We really can't relate.

The low bun has been slicked-back and twisted to perfection it seems, leaving Meghan's glowy-bronze makeup to really shine through.

Not only was the hair a vision, but it was for a good cause. The couple were receiving the Ripple of Hope Award in New York by the Robert F. Kennedy Human rights nonprofit organisation.

While the hair style isn't as extreme as Sydney Sweeney's take on the trend, or as retro as Katy Perry's space buns – oh, what we'd give to see Meghan take on that 90s trend – it's fitting with the Duchess's sleek and chic style, which we're totally here for.

Keep blessing us with more good hair days please, Meg.
