On today’s episode of the Zacks Friday Finish Line, Associate Stock Strategists Ryan McQueeney and Ben Rains take on this week’s biggest stories, including MoviePass’ struggle to survive, the return of PC giant Dell to public markets, Tesla’s historic-yet-disappointing milestone, and Micron’s legal battle in China.

Ryan and Ben start the show by discussing Helios and Matheson Analytics HMNY, the parent company of MoviePass. HMNY filed plans for a shelf offering this week, which investors saw as a desperate scramble to save the movie theater subscription plan. The hosts discuss the move and explain why MoviePass is both popular and unsustainable.

Next, Ryan and Ben cover Dell’s return to the public markets. Dell’s share of VMWare VMW has been trading under the Dell Technologies DVMT banner for about two years now, but the PC giant hopes to swap that ticker for one which would represent its entire business, marking a return to public trading after going private in 2013.

The hosts chat about this plan and help investors understand how the go-public deal might work for existing DVMT holders.

Ryan and Ben also discussed why Tesla’s TSLA historic week was met with disdain from analysts and investors. The electric car giant finally reached its 5,000-per-week production target for the Model 3, but it reportedly came at the cost of taking employees away from other projects and ultimately missing overall delivery estimates.

Finally, the Finish Line team chatted about Micron MU and its regulatory headaches in China. Micron temporarily banned from selling certain products in China this week after a patent complaint from domestic rivals. Ben and Ryan explained why competition in China’s chip industry is only just getting started—and where this story fits in the ongoing U.S.-China trade war.

Will You Make a Fortune on the Shift to Electric Cars?

Here's another stock idea to consider. Much like petroleum 150 years ago, lithium power may soon shake the world, creating millionaires and reshaping geo-politics. Soon electric vehicles (EVs) may be cheaper than gas guzzlers. Some are already reaching 265 miles on a single charge.

With battery prices plummeting and charging stations set to multiply, one company stands out as the #1 stock to buy according to Zacks research.

It's not the one you think.
