News Summary: Metals, oil fall as Greece stalls

News Summary: As Greek talks stalemate, metals and oil fall; gold doesn't glitter

HEAVY METALS: Precious and industrial metals fell Monday as investors worried that Greece's political stalemate could further depress the European economy. The most notable decline was in copper, which fell 2.5 percent.

GOLD DOESN'T GLITTER: Gold for June delivery fell $23, or 1.5 percent, to $1,561 per ounce. Investors sometimes flock to gold in uncertain markets, but the stronger dollar — which makes gold more expensive — could be hurting demand.

OIL SKIDS: Greece's plodding talks also pushed down oil, which fell to the lowest price since December.
