NZ's largest residential apartment development opens tomorrow

New Zealand’s largest residential apartment development, Rose Garden Apartments, will be officially opened tomorrow in Albany on Auckland’s North Shore.

The Minister for Economic Development, the Hon. Steven Joyce and Rt. Hon Sir Don McKinnon are expected to speak at the opening taking place at Westfield Albany, which overlooks the development.

Designed by award winning Kiwi architects, Rose Garden Apartments will provide 800 stylish and affordable one, two, three and four bedroom apartments along with shops, restaurants, services and park-like surrounds.

A four-stage development, the first-stage apartment buildings wrap around the site’s perimeter and feature balconies with views overlooking Albany Lakes and out to the Waitakere Ranges.

The developers have employed all local contractors and used New Zealand suppliers for the apartments’ kitchens, bathrooms, joinery, carpets, fixtures and fittings.

It is estimated that the project is currently contributing more than $1 million per week to the Auckland economy through labour, materials and services supply.

The construction costs for the development is expected to reach $300 million.

Harcourts Cooper & Co. North Shore is exclusively marketing the property on behalf of the developers.

Martin Cooper of Harcourts Cooper & Co. says, "The Rose Garden Apartments development has been funded by international investors, but it’s New Zealanders who are benefiting from economic expansion, job creation, and most importantly affordable homes."

Rose Garden Apartments has a unique lakefront location and features a wide pedestrianized road with walkways and a raised central courtyard designed as a communal meeting point.

The apartments are surrounded by amenities including schools, transport links and retail shopping. The iconic Takapuna Beach is a short drive away.

"Rose Garden Apartments represents a modern approach to residential housing that provides everything you need to live, work and play right on your doorstep," says Mr Cooper.

Entry level price for the units will start at $399,000.
