Yahoo Finance Optus struck by national outage, affecting millions of Aussies

Optus customers on the older network of 3G are still battling issues with accessing their phone or internet services, Yahoo Finance has confirmed.
But those on 4G and 5G should not be experiencing network issues anymore.
"Due to an earlier incident, some Optus 3G customers may be experiencing service issues," an Optus spokesperson said.
"4G and 5G services have been restored.
"Keeping customers connected is our priority and we apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Thousands of Australians have been left without access to internet services amid a nation-wide Optus outage.
Customers began experiencing issues around 10:15am AEST on Friday morning, with the outage experienced in most capital cities of Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, according to Down Detector.
Customers in Newcastle, the Gold Coast and the Central Coast are also experiencing issues.
The telco giant told Yahoo Finance it was aware of the issue and investigating it.
"Some Optus mobile and internet services may have been affected by an outage that commenced at approximately 10.30am," an Optus spokesperson said.
"While services look to be restoring, Optus is working to identify the cause of the outage.
"Keeping customers connected is our priority and we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
Australians should dial 000 in cases of emergency, the spokesperson added.
Optus is aware of an outage that may be impacting Optus services. We are aiming to restore these services as a priority.

Customers vented their frustrations on social media, with one saying they had “no coverage at all” and was unable to scan the QR code to sign in at work.
“I'm an essential worker and my phone is the only way my managers can contact me. Cheers for that,” another tweeted.
Others still encouraged customers to switch to Optus’ rival, Telstra.
Optus services six million customers across Australia.
The outage comes just little over a week after the Commonwealth Bank was hit by its third outage in under a month.
