Pete Davidson has reportedly denied dating singer-songwriter Olivia O'Brien after she seemingly confirmed their past romance, and it's all kinds of awkward.
Of course, Pete has been pretty publicly dating Kim Kardashian since around October 2021, but comments from Olivia are thought to call back to 2020. The update comes after the 22-year-old 'Josslyn' singer spoke out about Pete this week during an episode of the BFFs with Dave Portnoy, Josh Richards, and Brianna Chickenfry podcast. During the chat, Olivia appeared to confirm that the pair briefly dated, with reps for Pete now denying the romance.
In the podcast episode, host Portnoy asked, "Pete Davidson, what was going on there?" adding that Olivia's eyes apparently "popped" in response to the question. She first replied, "Where did you hear that? How did you hear that?" with Portnoy then confirming that the speculation came from celebrity blind gossip Instagram account DeuxMoi.
The presenter went on to share details of the Insta post in question, which claimed that Pete ended his relationship with an unnamed pop star in order to pursue things with Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor (whom Pete dated for around five months before splitting in August 2021).
Responding to the post, Olivia told listeners, "I didn’t think that anyone knew about that. I really didn’t." The singer added that Pete is a "nice guy" and "really sweet", saying, "He's hot and he's really funny."
Olivia then went on to seemingly confirm the story, explaining, "He texted me and was like, 'I’m seeing someone so I can’t.' And it was her."
However, following Olivia's podcast appearance, a rep for Pete reportedly told E! News, "There is no truth to this." They added that the pair "were friends and hung [out] a few times."
