PGG Wrightson acquires turf irrigation business

PGG Wrightson subsidiary, PGG Wrightson (PGW) Water, has purchased the assets of New Zealand turf irrigation business Advanced Irrigation Systems.

Announcing the acquisition, PGW CEO Mark Dewdney said Advanced Irrigation Systems’ business complements PGW’s Water and Turf businesses.

"While a relatively small acquisition, the business broadens the offering of PGW Water and fits well with our strategy of becoming the market leader in water and irrigation.

"Our PGW Water division has experienced significant growth in recent years, including the 2013 acquisitions of Water Dynamics and Aquaspec. The acquisition of Advanced Irrigation Systems offers another opportunity for PGW Water to further capitalise on the growing opportunities within the commercial irrigation sector."

Advanced Irrigation Systems has a nationwide team of sales, design and support staff who will retain their positions reporting through to the General Manager of PGW Water, John Parker.

The acquisition of Advanced Irrigation Systems takes effect on 30 June 2015.
