Power Book II: Ghost Season 4: Everything We Know So Far

It’s been a while since we’ve been in the big, rich town that Tariq St. Patrick — and rest of Power Book II: Ghost‘s characters — inhabit. But that doesn’t mean we haven’t been eagerly gathering information in advance of the Starz series’ upcoming Season 4.

More from TVLine

Fans of the show will recall that Tariq ignored his mother’s and Tommy’s advice and essentially started a war at the end of Season 3. He approached Noma about a business partnership but soon learned the hard way that she’d already teamed up with Effie and the Tejada kids. Cue the brutal shootout!

In the Season 3 finale, we learned that Diana Tejada — and not her mother, Monet — made it possible for Tommy to find (and potentially kill) Tariq’s mom, Tasha. But Tommy lets Tariq know that it’s all good: Tommy and Tasha finally worked through the issues stemming from when she killed his fiancée, LaKeisha, during Power Season 6.

Though Tommy warned Tariq against going after Monet, the teen didn’t listen. So when Diana came to ‘Riq and offered to help him take out her mother, he agreed. But then Tasha interfered by pulling off a drive-by shooting on Monet. And when a vengeance-seeking Cane asked Diana if she saw who shot their mom, she said it was Tariq. (Cane didn’t know, however, that Dru and Diana had been plotting to destroy their mother the whole time.)

Tariq regrouped and tried to forge a new business partnership with Noma, but quickly learned that Cane, Diana, Dru and Effie were working with her instead. In the shootout that followed, only Brayden had Tariq’s back. (Read a full finale recap here.)
