Prince William’s favourite song is rather unexpected (and we're so here for it)

During a new podcast episode in which he walks around the Queen’s Sandringham Estate, Prince William opened up about his rather unexpected taste in music – and revealed that he likes to blast away the cobwebs on a Monday morning with some fairly heavy-going rock… in the form of AC/DC! Well, they are a staple favourite amongst dads?

Chatting away on Time To Walk, the Duke of Cambridge discussed mental health and fitness, whilst weaving in personal anecdotes – including his love of the Australian rock group.

"There’s nothing better than, on a Monday morning, when you’re a bit bleary-eyed after the weekend and trying to get yourself back into the grind of the week, listening to AC/DC, Thunderstruck," he told listeners.

Hilariously, Prince William also shared that upon first listen, he thought the track was a little, err, intense for an early morning, but that it quickly became a grower and he's now listened to it a "million times". Go on, our Will!

"I have to say the first time I put it on, and I’ve heard it a million times now, I was kind of, like, 'Well, this is quite heavy for a Monday morning'. But now, when I listen to it, it’s the best tonic for a Monday morning," the father of three said. "It absolutely wakes you up, puts your week in the best mood possible, and you feel like you can take on anything and anyone."

The Duke of Cambridge also added, "I’d imagine you’re going to walk quite fast listening to it, maybe with a skip in your step, with the headbanging. It’s a difficult song not to dance to or to nod along to."

It seems his passion for music is something that his children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – have inherited too, as Prince William candidly shared that his royal children can even get into squabbles over what music to listen to in the kitchen at home.

But, despite their disagreements, William revealed there is one song in particular that always gets them on their feet. "One of the songs that the children are loving at the moment is Shakira's Waka Waka. There’s a lot of hip movements going along with a lot of dressing up," he said. "Charlotte particularly is running around the kitchen, in her dresses and ballet stuff. She goes completely crazy with Louis following her around trying to do the same thing."

Adorable! Petition for the Cambridges to start a family band, please?
