If there's one person you probably didn't expect to see popping up on your TikTok feed, it's Prince William. You can imagine our surprise then, when just that happened yesterday. Yep, the Princes of Wales is ~officially~ a TikToker now... we can't wait to see him doing a dance challenge.
Although the royal doesn't have his own TikTok account – yet! – he did make an appearance on the app to promote the second Earthshot Prize, which five winners are awarded each year for their contributions to environmentalism.
In the clip, Prince William introduces the location of this year's Earthshot Prize awards ceremony then does a TikTok transition worthy of a gold star. Unsurprisingly, royal fans flocked to the comments section to share their excitement at the royal finally being on TikTok.
"Glad to see The Prince of Wales on TikTok!" one person commented, with another writing: "Happy to see the Prince on TikTok." Someone else echoed our thoughts exactly, chiming into the conversation with: "William the king of TikTok transitions!"
"Welcome to TikTok," another fan added, as a fifth TikToker commended Prince William for his dedication to tackling the climate crisis, saying: "I love this so much; thank you for your time and interest in the helping the planet."
To mark the Earthshot Prize, William and Kate Middleton have travelled to Boston to attend the awards ceremony. It's the first time that the Prince and Princess of Wales have visited the US in eight years, and their plans include meeting President Joe Biden.
