Someone get the 'coolest parents in the world' plaque ready, because Rihanna has officially given birth and welcomed her first child with ASAP Rocky.
Prepare to do a lot of coo-ing and some aww-ing, because reports say the singer and rapper have had a baby.
According to TMZ, the couple welcomed a baby boy into the world on the 13th May 2022 in Los Angeles, but no name is known yet. The pair were last spotted out and about in the 9th over Mother's Day weekend in the US.
The pair announced they were expecting their first child together in January, with a seriously cool photoshoot. In it, the 33-year-old Fenty designer was wearing a bright pink coat unbuttoned above her stomach, showing off a baby bump. She was holding hands with the rapper, also 33 and real name Rakim Mayers, as they shared a kiss and pose for photos.
ASAP and RiRi have been linked since way back in 2013, when Rihanna starred in ASAP's music video for 'Fashion Killa', but he denied it was any more than friends at the time. "I don't even look at her like that. She's sexy, but I'm good," he told Distractify.
Over six years later in 2020, reports begin to surface claiming that Rihanna and ASAP Rocky were dating, following Rih's split from Hassan Jameel, who she'd been in a relationship with for almost three years.
By May 2021, ASAP confirmed they were in love in a gushing interview with GQ, calling the singer "the love of my life" when asked about their relationship. He then also called her "my lady."
When asked why he prefers a monogamous relationship to dating, ASAP continued, "[It's] so much better. So much better when you got the One. She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones. I think when you know, you know. She's the One."
The interviewer added that the rapper "starts beaming like a teenager whose crush just accepted his prom invite" when they brought Rihanna up. He also touched on whether he'd like to be a father, adding, "If that’s in my destiny, absolutely. Nah, but like, I think I’d be an incredible, remarkably, overall amazing dad.
"I would have a very fly child. Very," he said, and wow, we couldn't have put it better ourselves.
