See Harry and Meghan's response at being asked if they “destroyed” the Royal Family

On the release date for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's much-anticipated Netflix documentary, a video has circulated on social media of them being asked how they feel about "destroying" the Royal Family.

The clip – which has been widely shared online – shows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex arriving at the Ripple of Hope Award gala in New York on Monday night. But, as the couple make their way into the venue, a heckler shouts: "Harry, what do you think about destroying the Royal Family?"

The 38-year-old royal brushes off the comment and walks past the crowd, the same voice can then be heard through the throng of people, shouting: "Meghan, you destroyed the Royal Family."

Neither the Duke or Duchess of Sussex addressed the heckler's claim, opting not to stop and speak to the crowd and instead headed straight inside to the gala.

Netflix's Harry & Meghan docu-series – the first three episodes of which premiered this morning – is expected to contain a number of bombshell claims about the Royal Family, including that they 'planted' stories in the press. Elsewhere, the couple discuss their romance, which they've described as a "love story".

A disclaimer at the beginning of episode one states that the Royal Family declined to comment on the series, and up til now, senior royals have kept quiet about their thoughts on the documentary's contents.

The first three episodes of Harry & Meghan are available on Netflix now, with Volume II set to drop next week on 15 December.
