Stocks to watch

Stocks of interest at the close of trade on the ASX on Thursday, December 6:

FIG - FREEDOM INSURANCE - down 2.6 cents, or 47.27 per cent, to 2.9 cents

Freedom Insurance Group says it may face a liquidity shortfall in 2019 with $4 million in customer remediations and no new business commissions sending its stock to a fresh low.

NUF - NUFARM - down six cents, or 0.97 per cent, to $6.12

Agricultural chemical supplier Nufarm continues to lean on its overseas businesses as the eastern Australia drought dries out local income, but managing director Greg Hunt insists geographic diversification has the company on track for full-year growth.

BOQ - BANK OF QUEENSLAND - unchanged at $9.77

The Bank of Queensland has lost its second big executive in as many days, with group executive of BOQ business Brendan White resigning to become chief executive of Cash Converters.

BHP - BHP BILLITON - down 43 cents, or 1.35 per cent, to $31.40

RIO - RIO TINTO - down $1.50, or 2.04 per cent, to $72.21

S32 - SOUTH32 - down 11 cents, or 3.41 per cent, $3.12

The heavyweight miners were the biggest drag on the ASX on Thursday and offset a late rally from other stocks.
