Network service provider Service Stream, shipbuilder Austal and skin disorder drug company Clinuvel all made their debut among the ASX200 on Monday as part of a quarterly rebalancing. Since the three companies' inclusion on the index was announced on June 14 - replacing Seven West Media, education provider Navitas and graphite miner Syrah Resources - all three of the companies have seen significant increases in their share price

Service stream is up 13.4 per cent, Austal is up 9.4 per cent, and Clinuvel is up 11.3 per cent.

"This demonstrates the popularity of passive funds," said Bell Direct market analyst Julia Lee.

Managers of ETFs such as the SPDR S&P/ASX 200 Fund will have to buy shares in the three companies now that they are part of the ASX200, so traders have likely been buying them in advance of their inclusion.
