Susan Paterson to retire as Abano Director

Abano Healthcare Group Limited (NZX:ABA.NZ - News) has announced that Director Susan Paterson has advised of her intention to step down from the Board at the end of November 2015.

Board Chairman, Trevor Janes, thanked Susan for her considerable contributions over the past 10 years.

"Susan has played an important role in the evolution of Abano as we have grown our business and focused our investment into scalable healthcare sectors primarily funded by private revenue. She has provided strategic input into Board discussions and decisions over this 10 year period, during which Abano has built up shareholder value, started its offshore investment in dental and audiology and returned significant capital to shareholders."

Susan said: "It has been a privilege to have been involved with Abano’s Board for the past ten years and more recently as deputy chair. Now is the time for new people with fresh thinking to take up the governance reins at Abano and to continue to steer the company’s future direction."

Following Susan’s retirement at the end of November 2015, the Abano Board will have five independent Directors with an additional Board appointment to be considered in 2016. Australian-based Director, Murray Boyte, was the most recent appointment to the Board in February 2015 as Abano’s Australian footprint continues to grow.
