Twitter Reacts To Harry Styles' 'American' Accent But All We Can Think About Is That Gucci Suit
Harry Styles added yet another win and memorable look to his arsenal at the 2021 BRIT Awards.
The singer, who won his second BRIT gong on Tuesday night for 'British Single Of The Year' for his 2020 summer anthem 'Watermelon Sugar', wore a bold Seventies-inspired Gucci Aria suit paired with a statement-making brown leather bag with a bamboo handle.
However, it wasn't just Styles' retro chic wool and silk double-breasted ensemble (with macro framed sequence print) that caught the attention of fans, rather - much to our surprise - his accent during his acceptance speech.
During the British star's speech viewers were quick to point out the hint of a burgeoning American accent from the former One Directioner.
Styles' fans and viewers watching last night’s BRIT Awards soon took to Twitter to question what they deemed to be a slight alteration in his Northern accent.
One user outwardly questioned the apparent change, writing: 'Why has #HarryStyles got an American accent all of a sudden? [sic]'
Another reference a popular audio clip frequently used on TikTok, noting: 'His accent said: baby I'm nit even here, I'm a hallucination [sic]'.

Some users, however, we're quick to defend the star and cite the fact that the apparent accent change is something that happens to a lot of people in instances of immigration or change in work environment.
In recent months, Styles wrapped up filming in the US on rumoured partner Olivia Wilde's upcoming film, Don't Worry Darling, alongside Oscar-nominated actress Florence Pugh.
One user tweeted: 'People talking about Harry Styles accent change...I envy people who can keep their accents after they’ve moved away because I am not one of them. It’s like I start to adapt after a few days and I have to tell people I’m not taking the p*ss and I don’t know why it happens lol. [sic]'
Another added: 'Harry Styles has got that thing I used to get when I sat next to someone in the office with a regional accent and you’d fully take it on within a week of knowing them. [sic]'
One noted: 'I can still hear the Cheshire boy loud and clear. But there’s definitely hints of accent coaching for his acting roles which make it a little softer than before! [sic]'

American or British, either way we'll be thinking of that suit for years to come.
